Meet one of the founders of CCATCM, Dr. Diana Tong Li! Dr. Diana Tong Li, President of CCATCM and a distinguished member of various international acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine associations, embarked on her medical journey at the young age of 16.

The CCATCM clinical experience is a major steppingstone in our student’s preparation to practice in the real world. CCATCM places an emphasis on hands-on practice. CCATCM founders specially designed our curriculum with CCATCM Signature Acupressure Massage courses that will be taught in the first year, which gives students the opportunity to touch and feel Acupuncture Points and Meridians. It makes the TCM theory come to life. After only three months, our students can begin helping patients in the student clinic, as well as their family and friends with their healing journey.
CCATCM is accredited by numerous provincial, national, and international organizations including the Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture Association of Canada (CMAAC), Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Colleges of Canada, World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies, British Acupuncture Council, various natural nutrition associations in Canada, and more.
CCATCM graduates are thoroughly prepared to write and attain pass rates well above national averages for the Pan-Canadian Examinations. These board exams are necessary for Acupuncturists to work in the provinces of Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia where acupuncture is a regulated profession.
Our programs go above and beyond what is taught in similar courses provincially, nationally, and internationally. In addition to meeting industry standards, our programs include additional enrichment and improved educational experiences.
Every year CCATCM has a TCM China Camp for students to visit TCM hospitals in China and experience the Chinese culture including food, silk, jade, and tea ceremonies. After landing in China, most expenses may be paid by a third party.
CCATCM applicants are eligible for student loans from all provinces and territories in Canada. That includes access to OSAP in Ontario, Nova Scotia Student Loan, StudentAidBC in British Columbia, Alberta Student Aid, Quebec Student Financial Assistance and more. Students are also able to access various forms of third-party funding such as military and armed forces, skills development funding for those who qualify, and funding from Native/Indigenous sources.
CCATCM’s campus is located in the heart of Bedford overlooking the beautiful Bedford Basin. Not only is the college located on a major bus route, within walking distance to two malls and numerous shops, but our campus also has the best feng shui and healing energy. CCATCM’s campus is more than 16,000 square feet and the college hosts four ample classroom spaces, clinic rooms, student lounge, herbal store, etc.
Our 2.5-day per week class structure allows CCATCM students to enjoy a proper life balance while studying to become a healer. With the Blended Delivery Acupuncture Diploma Program, students complete their first year online (evenings or weekends) which allows students to work and study at the same time, while their second year is completed onsite.
CCATCM has sister colleges in Ontario and British Columbia where we collaborate to meet high educational standards and allow students to transfer locations and course credits seamlessly amongst colleges.
Through our affiliation with Guangzhou Chinese Medicine University in China, CCATCM graduates are eligible to continue their study for a Master’s or PhD degree.

I chose to study acupuncture at CCATCM because I wanted to learn acupuncture and help others. Becoming an acupuncturist allows me to blend Traditional Chinese Medicine with Western medical concepts, offering a more holistic approach to patient care. I chose CCATCM to study acupuncture because I have always been interested in acupuncture and its ability to heal and bring balance to the body. My name is Taylor, and I am 24, from Moncton, New Brunswick. After obtaining my undergraduate degree in psychology I realized that I wanted to take a different career path; and seeing how I have always been interested in “alternative medicine” and the body’s ability to self heal, I began to research acupuncture which led me here, to CCATCM. I have a passion for learning and helping people heal themselves. I sincerely look forward to meeting many new faces in the upcoming new year!
I love CCATCM and I decided to come here right after I graduated from high school. While I was in high school I have always just wanted to help people and I think Acupuncture for me is the perfect way to do that. In 2019, I joined CCATCM's TCM China Camp, (an experiential learning opportunity) to China. This was a trip of a lifetime, with Dr. Li, we got to visit a TCM hospital and I really learned a lot.
I chose to enroll at CCATCM because it is the bridge between my career and my homeland. I accepted the hunger within to return to the Maritimes and begin my journey to become an acupuncturist and TCM practitioner. Having received treatment as a patient within the student clinic years prior, I felt the professional atmosphere and limitless ancient knowledge. The remedy perspectives and techniques resonated deeply. Dr. Diana Li and Dr. Franklyn Chen's direct cultural touch and admirable testimonies as masters of the field were very enticing.
I have been a practicing Holistic Nutritional Consultant for 10 years now and have been providing an additional service of Reiki for my clients. I feel that studying TCM will allow me to offer an even more effective and comprehensive treatment. This ancient medicinal practice encompasses everything I have learned up to this point in my career and more. At CCATCM, I really appreciate the kind, peaceful and respectful atmosphere and am given such straightforward and supportive hands-on training, that I feel confident in my ability to offer my future clients a more enhanced healing experience.
I came to CCATCM from Newfoundland and completed the Intensive two-year program. I love what I have learned, I am passionate about TCM and I think it is one of the greatest careers anyone could think about going into. I am now 61 years of age, which proves you are never too old to start over and learn something new, especially if you are passionate about it.

After 30 years practicing as a lawyer... I decided to retire and pursue another lifelong passion – Traditional Chinese Medicine. I found CCATCM in Halifax and I am so happy that I did.
