Admissions at CCATCM

Starting Your Journey in Acupuncture & TCM

Choosing the right school is an important decision when starting your career path. At the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM), we focus on providing quality education based on a long history—40 years in education overall, with 17 years focused specifically on Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Nearly 1,000 graduates have trained with us and now work in communities worldwide.

If you’re considering a career in acupuncture, TCM, or natural nutrition, our admissions process is designed to be straightforward and supportive.

Our Admissions Process

We aim to make applying clear and manageable. Our team is here to guide you through the steps.

We’re here to help

Choosing a program and applying to college involves many details. Our friendly admissions team can answer your questions about our programs, the application process, financial aid, or anything else you need to know. We want to help you make an informed decision about your education.

To process your application, we need a complete package including:

  • A completed and signed application form (online or paper).
  • An official copy of your high school diploma/transcript or your highest level of education completed.
  • An updated copy of your resume.
  • A copy of your government-issued photo ID (like a Passport or Driver’s License).
  • Your entrance essay (see guidance below).
  • The nonrefundable application fee is $100 CAD ($600 CAD for international students). It can be paid via e-transfer, cash, cheque, or Visa.

To be considered for our diploma programs, applicants generally need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • A genuine interest in acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the healing professions.
  • Competency in written and spoken English. (International applicants whose first language is not English might be asked for official scores from a test like TOEFL or IELTS).

(Specific programs may have additional prerequisites; please check individual program pages).

You have a couple of options for submitting your application:

  1. Online: Fill out the application form directly on our website.
  2. Paper: Download the PDF application form, complete it, and submit it by email or in person.

Your entrance essay is a chance for you to tell us more about yourself and your interest in this field. There aren’t strict rules on length or format. Think about covering points like:

  • Why do you want to study acupuncture, acupressure, TCM, or holistic nutrition?
  • What are your goals for your career?
  • How did you find out about CCATCM and our programs?
  • Why do you feel CCATCM is the right place for you?
  • What perspective or qualities might you bring to the learning community here?

Have questions? Want to see the campus? We’re happy to connect.

  • Campus Tours & Visits: We offer free campus tours, opportunities to sit in on a class, and even free treatments in our student clinic. It’s a great way to experience CCATCM firsthand.

Good news – CCATCM is an approved college. This means our diploma programs qualify for government student loans, which can be a big help.

If you’re a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, you can apply for student loans. The federal government and your home province or territory run these programs. You usually apply through your home province’s student aid website.

To explore what’s available in your area, you can visit your province or territory’s student aid site.
