Extended Physiology – BIO-5002

This course explores the function and regulation of the human body, focusing on the integration of organ systems to maintain homeostasis. It covers neural and hormonal regulation, as well as musculoskeletal, circulatory, respiratory, digestive, urinary, immune, reproductive, and endocrine systems, providing a foundation for understanding medical concepts and body function.

Extended Pathology – BIO-5003

This course introduces human and brain pathology, exploring the nature and mechanisms of disease at the cellular level. It covers key medical concepts and terminology, providing a foundation for understanding physical therapies and soft tissue manipulation.

Dr. Li-Chen Meridian Massage – EMA-4002

Meridian Acupressure Massage combines TCM theory with hands-on practice, covering meridian pathways, qi and blood flow, and Tui Na techniques. The Dr. Li-Chen Acupressure Method emphasizes balancing yin and yang, regulating organ function, and enhancing overall wellness.

Tui Na – EMA-4003

This Tui Na course introduces the foundational TCM theories and practical techniques of traditional Chinese therapeutic massage. It covers key manipulations and acupressure methods for common conditions in adults and children, as well as self-Tui Na practices to promote personal health and healing.

Extended Western Medical Diagnosis – BIO-5006

This course introduces standard adult examinations, including history-taking and physical assessment techniques from a Western Medicine perspective. It also covers common laboratory diagnostics and the principles of differential diagnosis for frequently encountered clinical symptoms.

TCM Nutrition – HRB-8001

This course introduces Chinese herbs and nutrition, applying TCM principles to use common foods and herbs as medicine. It covers the preparation of medicinal teas, congee, soups, and other dishes, as well as the nature, taste, actions, and indications of individual herbs and foods. The course also explores TCM health preservation, prevention principles, and basic lifestyle practices for wellness.

Practice Management, People Skills, and Professionalism – PRO-7001

Students will show grasp of fundamental counseling skills for TCM practice, clinician SEUS abilities, ethical framework, trauma-informed care, handling tough clients and topics, risk assessment, conflict resolution, and practitioner self care.

Extended Human Anatomy – BIO-5001

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to human anatomy, covering common anatomical terms and major body systems, including skeletal, muscular, nervous, circulatory, digestive, cardiovascular, and endocrine systems. It also explores the functions of different body regions and their interactions.
