Chief Executive Officer & Institutional Architect
Strategic Leader for Institutional Modernization and Global Development
Mr. Ravee Ming Chen currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer and Institutional Architect of the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM).
Since assuming the role of CEO in 2019, Mr. Chen has demonstrated exceptional leadership, an international vision for education, and a multidisciplinary professional background. Under his leadership, CCATCM has achieved significant growth and innovation, becoming one of the recognized institutions for acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) education in North America. He has played a key role in advancing academic excellence, clinical training, professional development, international collaboration, and institutional growth.
Born into a family with a long-standing medical heritage, Mr. Chen is a sixth-generation inheritor of a Traditional Chinese Medicine family lineage. From an early age, he was immersed in TCM culture under the guidance of his parents, receiving training in acupuncture-based health care and actively participating in the daily operations and management of the family clinic. This early exposure established his strong foundation in TCM principles and fostered his lifelong commitment to healing, health promotion, and service to society.
Mr. Chen graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (CCATCM) with High Honour distinction and received the Clinical Excellence Certificate. Following graduation, he founded Sunrising Medical Clinic, where he has accumulated extensive clinical experience in acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine practice, and comprehensive health management.
To further enhance his professional expertise in TCM, Mr. Chen pursued advanced learning and clinical observation at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and Luoyang Orthopedic Hospital of Henan Province. He also received systematic clinical training at the Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine. In addition, he visited Wanxi Pharmaceutical Group in Nanyang, Henan Province, gaining valuable insight into modern Chinese herbal medicine manufacturing, pharmaceutical development, and the integration of traditional medical theories with contemporary production technologies. He also conducted research at Fuzhou University, focusing on the pharmacological properties and modern applications of natural medicinal substances such as Ganoderma (Lingzhi) and honey, establishing a strong foundation for his future work in natural health product development.
Beyond his medical expertise, Mr. Chen possesses a diverse academic and professional background. He holds bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Economics, as well as a Master’s degree in Finance. Before entering the field of TCM education leadership, he worked at the headquarters of a major Canadian bank and with leading investment institutions. He later founded a marketing company, gaining extensive experience in corporate management, financial investment, branding, strategic planning, and business development. This multidisciplinary background enables him to integrate modern management principles with traditional medical education.
As CEO and Institutional Architect of CCATCM, Mr. Chen has actively advanced curriculum development, educational innovation, and international collaboration. He has strengthened the College’s clinical education system, enhanced academic standards, and promoted a more standardized, systematic, modernized, and internationally oriented approach to acupuncture and TCM education.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr. Chen successfully completed the acquisition and integration of Eight Branches College of Eastern Medicine in Toronto. Through strategic planning, resource integration, and operational transformation, he guided the institution from financial challenges to sustainable growth while further enhancing its educational quality, reputation, and community impact.
Beyond his leadership in TCM education, Mr. Chen has remained deeply committed to the research and development of natural health products and TCM-based natural therapies. He has led the development of a natural liver-support and alcohol recovery health product based on Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and natural plant ingredients, which has been successfully introduced to the U.S. market. The product provides a natural health management option for modern consumers, particularly younger populations, and reflects his ongoing commitment to innovation in preventive health care.
Mr. Chen believes that the future advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicine requires not only clinical excellence, but also international educational vision, modern management systems, and continuous innovation. He remains dedicated to advancing the standardization, systematization, modernization, and internationalization of acupuncture and TCM education, developing globally competitive healthcare professionals, and contributing to the preservation, innovation, and worldwide advancement of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
