Post-Graduate Entry for TCMP Graduates (1-Year Program)
You can earn the Dr. TCM qualification through this focused one-year program if you already hold a Diploma of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (R.TCMP). This program is not available to registered acupuncturists.

If you follow the standard pathway by completing the CCATCM Acupuncture Diploma Program, the TCMP Program, and the one-year Doctor of TCM Program, you will significantly exceed the 3,250-hour requirement for the Dr. TCM board exam in British Columbia, providing you with more comprehensive preparation.
You learn directly from highly experienced instructors, including PhDs in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Our teachers bring years of valuable patient experience from clinics in both China and Canada into the classroom. This means you get insights that go beyond standard textbooks.
This program takes you beyond the basics to explore specialized fields within TCM. You’ll work closely with classical texts, understand research methods, and grasp the complex theories that are the basis for effective advanced practice. Studying the classics, for example, helps you understand the original context and reasoning behind many TCM principles still used today.
This thorough program is specifically designed to prepare graduates to write British Columbia’s Dr.TCM regulatory examinations. Passing these exams opens doors to practice at the highest level in regulated provinces.
Building on the TCMP diploma, this one-year program is CCATCM’s most comprehensive training. Study cornerstone texts like the Huang Di Nei Jing and Shang Han Lun, master integrated diagnostic and treatment methods, and refine your research and clinical skills.
Delivered fully online with optional on-site modules for specialization, it prepares you to lead as an expert TCM practitioner.
